Somehow I forgot to mention this here

Chesterton and Friends reminded me of my own recently published study guide. It's just a little thing, to help high school students, or Chesterton groups who want to take it upon themselves to delve a little deeper into Chesterton's first Father Brown mystery, called The Blue Cross. It contains the entire text of the original story in its original form, unabridged, as well as a bunch of questions and ideas for getting more out of it. The discussion on reason alone is wonderful for the high school level student, and there are ties to the catechism. If you are interested, click on the title link. Thanks.

  2. I forgot to mention that the illustrator is Sean Fitzpatrick. Some Gilbert readers may recognize the name.

  3. Now you've embarassed me, because I'm the doggone editor and the name does not ring a bell. Who is he?

  4. I was told he was a former illustrator/graphics person for Gilbert--maybe before our time, huh? His name didn't ring with me, either, if that helps you feel better.

He drew some great illustrations inside the study guide, as well. Talented person.

  5. He could be from the Early Years, before Ted became our official Youthful Art Director. I'll have to check my issue archive.

  7. As I have good reason to recall, Sean did caricatures for ATC - that's Canadian for "All Terrain Canoe" - Hee hee hee! I read that somewhere.

No, it means "All Things Considered" the newsletter from the Ottawa Chesterton Society, edited by Ron McCloskey, a great Chestertonian and friend.

(Hey "Chestertonian" are you trying to post like God orders the sun? every morning He says "Do it again!" - Yes, that's the official cheer of Chesterton University....)
