Thomas Paine? Or Ahlquist?

I'm reading the Ahlquist, of course.

It is a great book.

I wish I could write like that. And quote Chesterton like that. I think I need a few more years of Chesterton-immersion-school.

  1. Dale is like those people in Ray Bradbury's book Fahrenheit 451 who memorize whole books to keep the literary tradition alive, because all books have been banned.

Except that Dale seems to have memorized many, many books, all of them by one author. :-)

  2. A feat I find amazing. The footnotes (an unChestertonian thing to do, by the way) are incredible. But I am glad he did footnote it, because I already discovered something in there that I did not know existed, an interview with Gilbert AND Frances. I'll have to get my hands on that.
