Bill of Rights Movement

Interesting idea.

  1. Did Chesterton entirely approve of our nation "with the soul of a church"?

  2. Yeah, much as many of his fans try to hide it. That part of us, anyway. He also largely approved of the French Revolution, which our history books have screwed up on worse even than Carlyle.
Anyway, Chesterton would have been the first to point out that the source of America's laws is the idea of natural law, not the Bill of Rights. Strange to call Belloc an optimist, but he thought Fundamentalism, as an attitude, was just a survival.
    Oi Gewalt.
