Lepanto Novena: Sept. 29 - Oct. 7

Please join us for our novena, beginning tomorrow, September 29, the feast of St. Michael, and completing on the feast of the Most Holy Rosary, October 7.

You may say the rosary or choose whatever prayer you like. Remember that the FIRST novena was performed at the direction of our Lord, when just before He ascended He told the apostles to go back to the city and pray for the Holy Spirit.

Our intentions are for the defeat of evil, and for the special needs of all who are participating in prayer, and their families.

In case you wish to know more about Lepanto and its connection to all this, see here for the poem, or here for more.

  1. Thank you for reminding us, Dr. Thursday!

  2. Isn't it appropriate that on the first day of this 9-day novena against evil, it will be the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael Archangels.

  3. For those of us who spend some time commuting, I'd also recommend a CD "Lepanto, The Battle and the Poem" by Christopher Check. It provides background on the battle and ends with a rousing recitation of Lepanto. It's an hour well spent. The CD is available from StJohnFisherForum.org It's a nice compliment to Dale's book.
