Has anyone ever seen a live version (stage play) of The Man Who Was Thursday?
What was it like? Was it the Ada Chesterton-written play?

I did once, in Seattle about five years ago. I don't know if it was the one Ada Chesterton wrote or not. It was quite enjoyable, presented in a minimalist fashion--the key to fantasy on the stage, I think, is not to try to ape reality but to act well enough that the audience can enter into the imagination.
ReplyDeleteLucky!
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I am looking forward to with great anticipation at ChesterCon07 is the performance of TMWWT live on Friday night.
Four years ago my high school staged it (The Man who was Thursday); however I didn’t see it. From what my peers told me it was like “Indian Jones on drugs.”
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Indiana Jones on drugs...I wonder what that was like? But cool that a high school staged it, all the same.
ReplyDeleteSt. Gregory's Academy in Scranton, Pa., a high school, also staged it a year or so ago. The script adaptation was written by a teacher there -- the guy who illustrated the cover of your Blue Cross Study Guide, Nancy. :-)
ReplyDeleteBTW Indiana Jones would be much improved if he was on drugs.
