From the post office

I had a letter today, a sort of confession, from a Past-Clerihew Judge admitting that he/she had a tin ear for rhyme.
I think that explains a lot.

  2. That is a way for you not to know whom I am talking about; if I said the gender, you may possibly know which Past-Clerihew Judge I might be speaking of, and I didn't want to give that away, the person e-mailing me privately and all.

    It comes from the English language not have a "neutral" term for a pronoun that works. I could have used "it" which is quite impersonal, and this person is quite personable, thus, the term.
